岩田匡治在<<皇家骑士团>>中的音乐作品为其赢得了压倒性的支持。8年未任职的生涯之后，1997年，加入了史克威尔Sounds公司。在约两年半的任职期后，再度辞职成为自由人。2002年10月4日，岩田匡治与並木学等人创立了Basiscape公司，并就任董事会代表。
